Accelerated Reader for Grades 1-5
This year, we are going to do AR differently. Each child will have a different point amount to work for as their goal. (Each semester, they will have a different goal to work towards for our AR party.)
The goal is determined by their STAR test, so each plan is individualized for each child. No longer will all of 4th grade have to achieve 30 points for the AR party. We want the goals to be aligned with the students’ abilities, and to make sure they do not get frustrated or overwhelmed.
For example, if you have a 5th grader reading at a 3.5, they will only have to earn 13 points for the semester, as opposed to a 5th grader reading at a 6.5, who will have to earn 30 points for the semester. This is to ensure an achievable goal for all students to feel successful.

Goals and Prizes
Students will be rewarded twice each semester.
When they reach half of their goal, they will get a READ poster made of themselves to hang in the school.
When they reach their final goal, they will be allowed to come to our AR party in December. In the past, we've had authors speak at our parties, gingerbread house building contests, water balloon fights, and more!
Winners will be announced each week on our Friday news broadcast. (Remember, you can watch the broadcast on www.isonsprings.com!)

How to take a test
Students are allowed to take AR tests while they are in the school building. You can use the link, go to the website <https://renaissance.fultonschools.org/rpstudent/ADLogin.aspx>, or go to our Ison Springs homepage <www.isonsprings.com>, click on lab links, and find AR.
Students use their student ID as the username, and their birthday as the password. The birthday should be in a MMDDYYYY format. For example, if your birthday is January 18, 2007, the password would be 01182007.
